Anastasia has arranged a nice picnic at Long Beach, complete with a variety of fruits and cheeses. She selected some place far away enough from Los Angeles, so not have to deal with the daily drama that occurs in the larger city.

The weather was nice today too. She watched the waves, as she waited for Niverian to arrive. As she waited, Purple enjoyed the sunlight. Today she was wearing a sexy sailor swimsuit.

It took him some time to dig up a pair of swimming trunks for the occasion, but Niverian managed nonetheless. He arrives within a few minutes of receiving Anastasia's invitation, wearing aforementioned swimming trunks and a plain white short-sleeved shirt, a large towel draped over one shoulder. He whistles appreciatively when he spots her in her swimsuit, grinning, and goes to join her, greeting her with a gentle, lingering kiss. "You look fantastic, dearheart," he tells her when he pulls away.

"Ahhh sweet..." She blushes softly at the complement. "I thought I would show you another side of California."

He settles down beside her, setting his towel in a neat roll beside him, smiling. "It has been a pretty long time since I went anywhere that had a beach," he notes.

"Are there not a lot of planets with beaches?"

[nonvillainouscipher]

"No, there are plenty of them," he replies, shifting slightly onto one side so he's facing her, "I just don't often have an occasion to go to them."

"Well then enjoy the time here," She opened her picnic basket, to allow him to choose the foods he might desire.

"Oh, I'm sure I will," he replies, leaning over to press a kiss to her neck before going for some red grapes and a couple of slices of sharp cheddar.

He knows by now how sensitive her neck is, and how much his kisses make her weak in her knees. She also selects some apple slices, watermelon, and some mild mozza cheese.

He cuddles up close to her there in the sand, smiling, idly combing his free hand through her hair. After a few moments and a couple more grapes, he says, "So... both of my dads have been asking when I'm going to introduce you to them." He brushes a lock of her hair behind one of her ears. "Do you think you might be up for meeting them some time soon?"

She smiles softly. After their journey into Hades, and getting accepted by his birth parents, Anastasia doesn't feel so nervous anymore about meeting his fathers. "Yes. I would."

He gives her a broad, happy smile. "Great. I'll see about setting that up when I head back to the ship." Which, knowing how their dates usually end, probably won't be until tomorrow, possibly even the day after that.

"Have they asked a lot of questions about me?"

"Several," he replies, still smiling. "Mostly regarding how we met, what you're like. Naturally my answers usually involve a lot of gushing over how incredible you are."

"You gush?" She giggles softly. Tracing her fingers over his arms.

He chuckles a little. "When I'm talking about you, yes, I do. Quite a bit." He turns fully onto his side after a moment and slides an arm around her waist, kissing one shoulder.

Her fingers traced up to his head, where she plays with his hair. "Well you always are positive about what I can achieve, so I know you only gushed good things."

"Nothing but good things," he confirms, grinning, playing with a lock of her hair as well.

"Your support... your love encourages me to truly believe in myself. In what I can achieve." She whispers, leaning in to kiss him gently.

[nonvillainouscipher]

"Good," he murmurs. "I'm glad... You're absolutely incredible, and don't let anyone else make you believe otherwise. Not even yourself." He returns the kiss, leaning towards her a little and twining his fingers in her hair.

"Flatterer..." Purple chuckles softly.

"It's not flattery if it's true," he replies, just as quietly, still grinning.

"I have to say... just getting away for a while is really nice." She adjusts to rest her head on his lap.

"Mmm," he agrees, softly, returning to combing a hand through her hair. "Feels a lot like shore leave..." He glances down at her, still smiling. "But... that's pretty much how being with you always feels. ...Well, sort of." He frowns a little. "It's... hard to put into words."

"Naughty things happen on shore leave," Purple teases him.

"Are you saying you feel naughty around me?"

He chuckles. "Oh, that's definitely part of it," he replies, grinning. His expression sobers just a little, and he adds, "Being on shore leave is also a... it's a huge relief for me. A lot times, at work, I feel like I have the weight of the galaxy resting on my shoulders. And when I'm with you... it's like that weight just vanishes." He pauses for a moment, thinking about it a little more. "It's like... taking a gasp of desperately-needed air after being held underwater for several minutes."
