First date jitters

Purple stood infront of an open closet, tossing away selection after selection of tops and pants, blouses and shirts, and biting her lower lip nervously.

She was going on a date with Niverian (Cipher Nine), and she just wanted to look her best. And she had never had a real date before, so felt a little lost.

Finally, she selected a blue and black dress, and selected a few accessories like a half-dozen bracelets, her gloves, and a skull pin for her hair.

Then after finally feeling ready, Purple used her PINpoint and accessed the coordinates that Cipher Nine had sent her. She wasn't sure where she would appear... but she couldn't wait to see Cipher Nine again.

Nerf meat tastes very similar to beef, though not exactly the same. The seasoning isn't the same as on Earth either, though neither is it starkly different. Niverian waits for her to take a bite before starting on his, and in the meantime, answers, honestly, "It was like having a parent. My mentor and his husband ended up adopting me, after all."

"And they became your family." Purple enjoys the Nerf meat. And it is cooked exactly as she had requested too.

He chose this place for a reason. The service is excellent. He and the rest of the Empire's Finest ate here once or twice the first time he was on Alderaan. "Yes they did," he agrees. "His husband had a role in my training as well. He helped me get back in touch with my people's culture, since I grew up rather detached from it." He pauses and adds, by way of explanation, "My mentor is human, but his husband is Chiss."

"I am glad you had a chance to get to know your people's culture."

"I know a little about human culture..."

"But not the Nitobe. The demon part of me."

"Nitobe," he repeats pensively, trying the word out. "Maybe finding out more about them could be something we can work on together," he suggests, after a brief pause.

"What I do know is they were a race of warrior demons. They had a code of honor that they respected."

"And they are the credit for my purple hues."

He smiles and brushes a hand through her hair. "It's definitely your colour," he notes. "Very much suits you. Even without taking your... I suppose it's effectively your code name, isn't it? Even without taking your code name into account." He makes a pensive sort of humming noise. "If you want to find out more about them, I'll do whatever I can to help you with it."

"Yes. Code name."

"I would like to learn more about my demon culture."

[nonvillainouscipher]

"Like 'Cipher Nine' is to me." He takes her hand and nudges her gently on one shoulder. "I'll be there to help you find out about them, whenever you decide to go looking into it."

[stealth_andsecrets]

"I definitely want to know what special abilities the Nitobe had. Maybe I can activate them..." She reaches up to take his hand in hers.

He laces their fingers and squeezes gently in reply. "Well then, the next time I get a chance to visit Los Angeles, we'll do some digging, see what we can turn up." A small pause. "And I certainly intend to come visit you often."

"You know... I never really got that first-connection stories, until I first saw you. Even when you knocked me out..."

He laughs a little. "Sorry about that," he says, though his tone of voice is light. "I did have a feeling at the time that we might end up seeing more of each other. And I've learned to trust my instincts."

"What is that corny saying... you made me see stars." She laughs at her bad joke. Purple smiled that he wanted to see her again.

"You could sneak up on me anytime."

He laughs too, carding a hand through her hair for a moment. "And you can feel free to do the same," he replies, giving her a brief peck on the lips.

"You always seem to know where I am..." She isn't complaining though. And she leans into his caressing hand.

"That was because of one of my gadgets," he admits, smiling. "One that I almost never have cause to use outside of field work..."

((For some reason I have this mental image in my head of them trying to ambush each other with toy weapons just for fun during some of their alone time XD))

"You know what would be good training... us playing a spy version of hide-and-seek."

He grins and laughs. "Oh, I like that idea," he answers. "We'll definitely have to do that some time."

"Sounds like we have future dates to plan."

[nonvillainouscipher]

"Sounds like," he agrees. "Though we've still got plenty of time left on this one." He pauses to glance out towards the western horizon, where Alderaan's sun is starting to set, painting the sky in brilliant shades of red, orange, and purple.

She directs her attention the same way, giving a contented sigh at the beautiful sunset. And since he is seated close enough, she leans on him.

"Plenty of time..."

He slips an arm around her shoulder, holding her close against him, leaning his head gently against hers, only turning away for a moment to finish of the last off the wine in his glass. The lights from Castle Thul and the surrounding buildings drown out most of the stars that start to show up after the sun finishes setting, unfortunately, but some are still visible. More than would probably be visible in Los Angeles, since they're not currently in a big city, just in the vicinity of a castle and what amounts to the village housing the vassals of the lords in said castle. None of the constellations are the same, of course, but Niverian's more than used to seeing different constellations during every trip he takes.

When the sun sets, and the stars come out, Purple tilts her head to see those that are visible. It is difficult to see the stars in Los Angeles (especially after the Final Battle with the Senior Partners).

And she might not recognize any of the constellations, but she appreciates them all the same.

She tilts her head to look at Niverian, and gently guides his face towards hers with her hand. Then kisses him deeply.

He smiles as he returns the kiss, leaning close and sliding his hand back into her hair again, eyes slipping shut after a moment. And this time, she's the one who gets to decide when the kiss is over.
