He smiles a little. "It is now that the war has combusted again. My family and I have been very busy, juggling strategic intelligence for the war and a conspiracy that seeks to destroy both the Empire and the Republic. But until maybe a month or so ago, the war was cold, and we were still technically at peace. We had been for about ten years." He takes another couple of bites of salad, face falling into an expression somewhere between pensive and a little saddened. "I don't really like war very much. I had hoped the Treaty of Coruscant would never be broken, that maybe the Empire could find a way to coexist with the Republic. But the Empire is... we're too militaristic. The people in power enjoy war too much. So it was always going to happen; the only question was when and how."
